Online eyewear brand Zenni Optical has expanded its presence in esports by announcing new partnerships with esports organizations Pittsburgh Knights and Houston Outlaws. Additionally, the company will continue its sponsorship of Golden Guardians, which began in May 2019. Zenni will serve as the official eyewear brand for all three organizations and develop content in collaboration with the teams.
With these three partnerships, Zenni covers a wide range of esports fanbases. Golden Guardians is primarily built around its professional League of Legends team, but recently expanded its scope, bringing in players across Apex Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Super Smash Bros., and other titles. Houston Outlaws is another franchise-focused organization competing in the Overwatch League. The Knights brand is not featured in any major franchised league, but the organization competes in a variety of titles and has backing from the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
Additionally, the Knights entered into a strategic partnership with rapper Wiz Kalifa last year, which Zenni says it will look to leverage in an effort to build out its roster of influencer partners.
