The Esports Observer has learned that Tony Petitti, who became president of sports and entertainment for Activision Blizzard on August 17, 2020, is stepping down. Brandon Snow, the Chief Commercial Officer, Activision Blizzard Brand, Media & Esports Partnerships is said to be taking the place of Petitti. Prior to Activision Blizzard, Petitti had spent 12 years with Major League Baseball in various positions including MLB deputy commissioner of business and media and COO, also spearheaded the launch of the MLB Network in 2008.
An Activision Blizzard rep. Tells TEO that Brandon Snow, senior vice president and chief revenue officer, will be his replacement:
“Activision Blizzard and Tony Petitti, President of Sports and Entertainment, have parted ways. In connection with Tony’s departure, we may invest in a venture which is unrelated to esports but cannot share details at this time,” an Activision Blizzard Esports spokesperson told TEO. “Brandon Snow, Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, will assume leadership of Activision Blizzard Esports as we continue to focus on driving the momentum around our current seasons of Call of Duty and Overwatch Leagues and delivering the absolute best experiences to our fans around the world. We remain committed to the future of esports and being a leading player in this growing industry.”
