Long time no see! We hope you had a wonderful holidays and celebrated New Year’s Eve with the ones you love. Here’s hoping 2021 will prove to be a safer, healthier, and far more normal year. It was a crazy ride last year, and we have no plans to slow down this year either. However, there are some improvements that need to be made in Vigor, but more about that later.
OK, then. On to the new season!
Season 7: Mercenaries
We always want to know what you guys like. And when we asked what you’d like to see in Vigor last time, the majority of you mentioned that you yearn for more military cosmetics. So we did our best to deliver more of those. We’re very excited to introduce you to Mercenaries!
These Outlanders used to battle for money. Now they’ve come together to carry on with their domination as a unit of highly skilled professionals. Their signature gear is balaclavas, military gas masks, emblems on their caps, and camo face paint. They’re also bringing new additions to your armory, including the La Chiave 12 shotgun and M60E3 machine gun. Like every season, you can equip yourself with glossy new titles and boast about your skills in the lobbies.
We called it “Operation Health”!
As you breeze through this Xbox Wire post you’ll probably notice that there aren’t as many new features as usual. That’s again mainly thanks to you! We decided to take action and address a few pressing issues that some of you have brought to our attention.
The biggest issue revolved around a lack of memory. So the ladies and gents from our team worked dutifully on boosting memory optimization, which we expect will improve upon the various crashes and disconnections you might have experienced.
Our next challenge were maps like Fiske Fabrikk. We know you missed Fiske, but we needed to take it down for a short time so we could make some improvements to it. Well, we’re delighted to announce that our mission was successful, and that Fiske Fabrikk is back in rotation!
The small delay was also caused by a longer period of testing. We wanted to ensure we give you the quality you deserve. While we’re a passionate group of developers, we’re also a relatively small team, which is why some actions may take longer than what you’ve come to expect from bigger studios. So a huge thank you to all of you for your undying patience!
Alright, but what is the news, you ask? Well, we thought it would be exciting to spice up the Encounters a bit. Therefore, we’re introducing openable exits. That means that some of the exits now need to be opened before you can leave the Encounter. And you can also lock some exits behind you so other Outlanders can’t exit that fast. This new detail changes exit strategies a bit and we can’t wait to hear your feedback!
We also decided to give Shootout a bit of love. The team altered the selection of guns in the crates in Shootout. While it might seem like a small change, we think it will be a nice touch. Another weapon-related thing is that you can now equip the weapon you selected with ammo in the Shelter. Cool, right?
Last, but not least, there’s a new threat coming in with the Mercenaries. They don’t want to see any Outlander camping in a bush during the entire game. That means anyone staying in one spot for too long will risk being bombarded by a mortar strike.
Here’s to 2021
We’re really excited about all the cool stuff we plan on bringing to the Outlands. Attack our social media and drop your ideas for the game. We read through the discussions very carefully because we don’t want to miss any opportunities to make Vigor a bigger, better, and smoother experience. Also, you still have some time to redeem your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks!
That’s it for now. Take care, stay Vigorous, and see you in the Outlands!
