The news comes from the latest issue of Famitsu, which states the new service would “make use of arcade cabinets’ CPU and GPU to reduce costs and offer ultra-low latency.” As a result, arcades would be able to generate revenue even after hours, which is an unprecedented business opportunity.
At the moment, we don’t know whether these arcade titles will become available as home titles through Fog Gaming, or whether the service will be multinational in the future. Also, the Game Gear Micro has been announced, which will play classic titles on a miniature version of the console.
