A CSGO charity event called “The Fight Before Christmas” has been coordinated by Rethink Mental Illness, a CSGO event aimed at raising mental health funds and awareness.

The event is scheduled for 12:00 CET by Twitch on Sunday 6 December. In addition, CS:GO’s Wingman game mode with mixed-gender rosters will be used by The Battle Before Christmas to celebrate inclusiveness.

As a diversity partner for the event, Female esports community platform WIDE.GG. And for its Content Partner for Empowerment, TheEsportsBible. As partners for the fundraiser, Xtrfy and Skinwallet join GRID.

The initiative commented Harry Wiggett, GRID’s Main Account Manager: “We at GRID thought it appropriate to celebrate with some refreshing CSGO content for the communities in late 2020. We at GRID were grateful that we survived, personally and professionally, it was a wildly unpredictable year. We are delighted to raise money and raise awareness of mental health together with our partners.

“An environment where we need more emphasis than no introduction. Without any support, nobody deserves internal hardships, so we want to boost Rethink’s resources’ visibility and also raise funds to support those in need. It’s a pleasure to be in the room of mental wellbeing thanks to those involved in this case.”

A total of eight teams of two are scheduled to compete against Swedish veteran player Julia “Juliano” Kiran and the first list of competitors of Natus Vincere’s “m0nesey” Osipov.

Relog Media produces the Battle Before Christmas main radio broadcast, which uses the participants’ POV sources. It was also reported that the event focuses on following donations and engaging with the community instead of using a heavy comment style.

The GRID confirmed that it still has to finalize its key broadcasting talents with the business open to listening to the talent that wants to participate.

One spokesperson for Rethink Mental Illness said: “Rethink Mental Illness is extremely grateful for being the battle before Christmas’ charity partner. The increasing partnership between charity and sports is extremely exciting and one that we look forward to improving for the future. Any donations earned go to our work to help the worst affected.”
