Reality Rift was one of the hottest teams in SEA, but not anymore.
Many of you might be fans of the pretty fascinating small SEA team called Reality Rift. Although it was formed back in 2019, it managed to secure some pretty good results. However, once COVID-19 came, Reality Rift couldn’t really take part in most tournaments.
As a result, the CEO of the organization had to make the hard decision to disband the Dota 2 roster. According to him, Valve also had a major role in his decision because they aren’t doing enough to help the teams in these hard times. Ilya Vlasov (the CEO) also said that Dota 2 is still alive only because the fans love the game.

After Reality Rift shut down its roster, two of the players from the roster will have to search for a new team. However, the other two members – Vincent “AlaCrity” Yoong and Ravdan “Hustla” Narmandakh still have a contract. This means that we still don’t know whether RR will actually allow them to go anywhere.
We really hope that Valve will do something in order to support the smaller Dota 2 organization. As you know, this has been an ongoing issue in the professional Dota 2 scene for many years now. Although the tier one teams are making a lot of money, the others are not really doing well. Nevertheless, Valve hasn’t really made any significant efforts to help them. Sadly, Reality Rift is one of the first times to crumble.
