Seattle, Washington-based beverage company Jones Soda announced that it has become the first corporate sponsor of The Race All-Star Esports Battle that was launched in mid-March by Torque Esports. The Race All-Star Esports Battle was developed as an alternate virtual event in the wake of major motorsport cancellations in Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, NASCAR, and others due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Jones Soda began sponsoring four rounds of the five-week simracing championship on March 21 with the next three rounds taking place at 1 p.m. Eastern on March 28, April 4, and April 11.
The inaugural week had a combined total of 12.1M minutes watched on “The Race” YouTube channel, according to a release by Torque Esports.
