Riot Games announced today that Honda will be the first-ever presenting partner for the annual League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Scouting Grounds event.
The event has been rebranded as the Honda Scouting Grounds as a result, and the move is part of Honda’s overall deal as the exclusive automotive partner of the LCS. That partnership, announced in August, follows Honda’s sponsorship of Team Liquid earlier this year.
Honda Scouting Grounds is an event that spotlights up-and-coming League of Legends players and allows them to compete in front of representatives from professional LCS organizations. Each team is allowed one draft pick, although they can sell and trade picks amongst themselves, and each pick gives that team 10 days to exclusively negotiate a deal with a player. Evil Geniuses, which recently acquired Echo Fox’s former LCS spot, has the first draft pick at this year’s competition.
The event takes place from Nov. 11-16 at the LCS Arena in Los Angeles. Honda will also sponsor the event’s MVP award, plus Honda and Riot Games will produce content based on the competition and its players.
Additionally, Riot Games has partnered with data platform Mobalytics to provide statistics-driven profiles for all of the Honda Scouting Grounds competitors. Mobalytics will also produce content from the event.
