Berlin-based esports team organization G2 Esports has partnered with paysafecard for the fourth consecutive year. The online prepaid payment provider will keep its branding on G2 Esports’ jerseys, social media channels, and Twitch livestreams, and will collaborate on branded giveaways, online player challenges, team signing sessions, and meet and greets.
Last year, paysafecard, part of the Paysafe Group, collaborated with G2 Esports on “Making The Squad,” an interactive talent show that awarded four Fortnite personalities full-time streaming contracts. “Paysafecard is our longest-standing partner and we are thrilled to strengthen our relationship as we continue to bring innovative and entertaining content to esports fans worldwide,” said Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports.
In February of this year, paysafecard also renewed its ongoing partnership with ESL, which covers all major competition brands (ESL Pro League, ESL One, and the Intel Extreme Masters), the naming rights to the “paysafecard Hall of Fame,” and makes paysafecard a payment method for the ESL Shop, and esports competition platforms ESEA and ESL Play.
“The gaming community, if you will, were always one of our primary consumer groups,” said Konstantinos Maragkakis, paysafecard’s esports media representative, speaking to The Esports Observer at ESL One Cologne. “It’s defining people in every part of their lives, from what they watch on a daily basis, to the people they interact with, to how they socialize.”
