Fortnite: World Cup Champion Bugha To Launch An Apparel Line

Fortnite World Cup Solo Champion Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf teased the launch of bugha.net earlier today.

Although the purpose of this website is somewhat cryptic, it forwards to shop.bugha.net. It’s safe to assume that the $3 million Fortnite Champion will join the likes of Turner “Tfue” Tenney and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins in releasing a line of merchandise to the public. Bugha’s apparel line, set to launch on July 28, will likely reference the young pro player’s status in Fortnite as the reigning Solo World Cup winner, based on the website’s appearance.

Growing Brands with Apparel

Bugha is not the first and will certainly not be the last Fortnite player or personality to launch an apparel line. Ninja followed the same path on two separate occasions. However, the former Twitch and Mixer personality saw his brand grow more significant than any other before or since.

His latest release went live in May of this year. Stores like Walmart and Hot Topic also sell Ninja-branded merchandise. Most notably, Ninja struck a deal with Adidas, who helped design and release sneakers featuring his patented logo. Ninja capitalized significantly after his initial explosion in popularity on Twitch.

Popular Twitch streamer and on again off again professional Fortnite player Tfue also released a limited line of merchandise back in November of 2019. It appears that Tfue plans to drop some more merchandise in the future. On somewhat of a smaller scale, DreamHack Anaheim Champion Martin “MrSavage” Foss Andersen also has a merchandise line.

Bugha looks to join those who have found success in growing their names with a line of merchandise. He currently maintains over one million followers on Twitter, over two million on Twitch and over three million subscribers on YouTube. It makes sense that Bugha would strike while the iron is hot. Fortnite also recently announced a Bugha Throwback Cup, which will include the reigning World Cup Champion in the Grand Finals against 99 others.

As Bugha continues to grow and find success, his name will elevate him to the level of a Tfue and Ninja, perhaps even beyond them.
