Fallout 76 Players Can Now Spend $100 On A Yearly Subscription For Exclusive In-Game Content

Hot on the heels of Bethesda delaying Fallout 76’s NPC-focused Wastlanders update until next year, the company is now giving players something unexpected, and it costs money. Bethesda is inviting people to join Fallout 1st, a premium monthly membership that gives players access to private worlds, unlimited storage for crafting components in a new Scrapbox, a monthly allowance of $1,650 Atoms, and more.

The membership costs $13 a month, or you can get a hefty discount if you sign up for a full year for $100.

In the private worlds, players can invite up to seven friends to join the adventure, and only the player that created the world needs to have the Fallout 1st sub. The private world offers expanded building areas, and increased C.A.M.P. budgets. Fallout 1st members also get an exclusive survival tent that acts as a secondary fast-travel point, complete with a sleeping bag, scrapbox, and cooking station. Bethesda is also giving members exclusive ranger armor, icons, and emotes.

Let me know what you think of Bethesda’s decision to add a subscription service to Fallout 76 in the comments section below. I know I’m just reporting the news here, but I have a thought to share: This is a strange decision on Bethesda’s part, especially since the game isn’t free to play, and a lot of this content seems like it would make the base game better. Why close that off from players?
