The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation has published new information on Fairy Tail, the RPG based on the manga series by Hiro Mashima (via Gematsu).
The Fairy Tail campaign will take about 30 hours to complete, and that’s if the player doesn’t engage with the character episodes and unlock special costumes for its roster of heroes. In addition, the game will have unique content never-before-seen in the manga or anime. With Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima assisting the game’s development, this is fabulous news for fans as the original manga ended in 2017.
During the ‘Fairy Tail Special Stage’ at Tokyo Game Show, developer Gust and publisher Koei Tecmo showed off some of its gameplay features. One of these was the Guild in Magnolia Town, and by accepting the quests of the townspeople, the Guild will be restored. Each addition and task within the Guild is attributed to a certain character, and the relationships between characters will deepen as the player spends time with them in their party.
With increasing Guild rank comes stronger magic. It’s possible to learn legend-class magic as the player progresses through the story, and the eccentric Makarov Dreyar will be on hand to teach ‘Fairy Law’ style ultra magic. And finally, DLC has been considered by Gust and Koei Tecmo, which is a surefire sign that the game is coming along well, despite having only passed the halfway mark in its development.
Fairy Tail is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in 2020.
