We take a look at some of the highlights of Week Two of the DPC.
After we saw what happened during the first week of the new DPC, it’s time to check some of the highlights of Week Two. There were pretty interesting games in the Upper and in the Lower Divisions, so let’s take a look at some of the most interesting ones.
The team that most people want to succeed in the Lower Division is Hellbear Smashers. Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard and the rest of his crew won their first series last week and they started this week with another victory.
The first series was against burjui, and as expected, HB Smashers completely ripped through their opponents. The first game of the series lased just 24 minutes after Wraith King and Ember Spirit showed everyone why they are considered to be one of the hottest heroes in Dota 2.
Even though the second game was definitely better for burjui, they still lost in less than 30 minutes. This time, HB Smashers decided to use Invoker and Bloodseeker.

The first series that was pretty fun to watch in the Upper Division was between High Coast Esports and Team Liquid. HC Esports played really well versus OG last week, so people expected them to do the same against Liquid. Sadly, this didn’t happen.
The ex-Chicken Fighters roster picked really interesting heroes in game one. Rasmus Johan “Chessie” Blomdin and his team-mates picked an offlane IO, which seemed good on paper, but sadly, it didný work. Despite securing a few kills during the laning stage. Max “qojqva” Bröcker and his Vengeful Spirit were just too strong.
Sadly, things didn’t go well for HCE in the second game either. The team completely crumbled and lost in just 23 minutes. Following their success, Team Liquid will try to put up a challenge to the other top teams in its group.

Series Highlight: OG vs Alliance
The other series that was pretty cool to watch was between Alliance and OG. Those two teams are one of the main favorites for The International, which is why the clash between them was really important.
?-?% is all it takes in Dota!?
GG’s @OGesports, what a second game!?
— Alliance ?? (@theAllianceGG) January 30, 2021
In game one, Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and his team-mates picked IO and Weaver. Those two heroes might seem strange when paired with each other, but Alliance have learned how to take full advantage of them. Therefore, they needed just 27 minutes to rip through OG.
The two times TI winners picked Ember Spirit and DK, but sadly, these two heroes need more farm to be effective. Needless to say, Alliance didn’t allow them to do that.

The second game of the series was definitely the more interesting one. Both teams had really good drafts, but Alliance were in the driving seat most of the time. They managed to secure themselves mega creeps, which forced OG to buy a Divine Rapier. Sadly, even the strongest item in Dota 2 was not enough to keep Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen and his players in the game.
After their victory, the mighty TI 2 champions still have a chance to survive the group stage. Their next challenge will be against High Coast Esports, a team that’s yet to win a series.
