Dota 2: VP.Prodigy To Replace Virtus.pro In The OGA Dota Pit Season 2

Sadly, one of the best CIS teams won’t be able to play in this event.

If you’ve been following the Dota 2 scene in the last couple of months, you probably know Virtus.pro has two Dota 2 squads. Their new team is full of young players who have a promising future ahead of them. Nonetheless, the main squad is still the one that receives more attention. However, it seems like Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko and his team-mates decided to take a break, because VP.Prodigy will take their spot in the upcoming OGA Dota Pit Season 2.

We have decided to switch our Dota 2 rosters for the upcoming OGA Dota Pit S2. VP.Prodigy squad is coming out from a short tournament break and takes first roster's place in this event #GOGOVP pic.twitter.com/40IbOAL3dm

The new roster first played in June in the ESL One Birmingham Online, where they secured a top-three finish. After that, they decided to take a short break. There were many rumors surrounding the squad. Some people on Reddit said that VP has plans to sell them, however, this didn’t happen. The main  reasoning behind the rumors was the fact that many third-party tournament organizers decided to limit organizations from playing in events with more than one roster.

Following Virtus.Pro’s performance in the Parimatch League, the organization decided to give the guys a little rest. Needless to say, this will give VP.P the chance to shine yet again. The young squad will fight alongside many world-class teams in the OGA Dota Pit Season 2.

This event will have a prize pool of $170K USD and it will feature teams from EU and CIS. However, be sure to have free time because the event starts on July 27.

Here are the teams competing:

  • OG
  • Alliance
  • Vikin.GG
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Team Nigma
  • FlyToMoon
  • Natus Vincere
  • VP.Prodigy
