Dota 2: Rich Campbell Will No Longer Host Dota 2 Events

Sadly, we’ll no longer be seeing one of Dota 2’s best hosts grace our screens in the future.

The professional Dota 2 scene is going through some rough periods in the last couple of months. After the sexual harassment scandals that took place a few weeks ago, some of the biggest names in the Dota 2 world won’t be casting anymore.

Even though his name is not associated with any scandal, Rich Campbell also decided to stop his casting career. Instead, he will focus on full-time streaming, which is something that many popular people tend to do.

History

I do not plan on hosting anymore tournaments after this. Thank you to everyone who has watched me cast over the years, it has been a wild ride-but I can’t manage casting in any capacity while full time streaming. The announcement being made soon will be changing everything for me

— Rich Campbell (@RichWCampbell) August 26, 2020

Rich Campbell is one of the most interesting personalities in the esports world. Before he was introduced to Dota 2, he played a major role in World of Warcraft, where he hosted numerous events called World of Warcraft Arena World Championship.

Even though he worked for Blizzard for a long time, the company decided to fire him. Sadly, Rich made an outburst while he was streaming, which was aimed at the company. Needless to say, Blizzard had to take action, which is why we won’t see Rich in any of their games in the near future.

While it’s true that Rich wasn’t so involved in Dota 2, he still played a major role in every tournament. If you’d forgotten, the first time he was on the Dota 2 stage was during the Chongqing Major, which was back in early 2019.

We really wish Rich all the best, and we can’t wait to see him live on streams.

As for Dota 2, there are still many questions that need to be answered. Stay tuned for if you want to learn more information about the future of our favorite game.
