Guild Esports has appointed industry veteran Grant Rousseau as its Director of Esports, in the UK-specific esports company co-owned by David Beckham.

Rousseau was the temporary Head of Executive Affairs, then Excel Esports Director of Operations. According to a post that he made on LinkedIn, Roseau would try to bring the company a victorious mentality and finally a few trophies.”

Rousseau worked as Team Operations Director for the OverActive Media Community and Operations Director for Splyce prior to he joined the Excel Group.

In connection with the announcement, Rousseau tweeted: “The chance to lead the performance of a rising esports organization from scratch is the one to which I have longed. Unbelievably happy to be here and cannot wait to crack.

Regarding the announcement, Rousseau tweeted: “The opportunity to lead from scratch the performance division of a growing esports org, is one I have always aspired towards. Incredibly grateful to be standing at this point and cannot wait to crack on.

“For the first time, I see a true action plan of how an esports org intends to endemically build up the UK scene. Their academy system is well designed and will bring life to the UK industry. It’s the main reason why I joined and brings value to the competition of UK Esports.

This new contract is being introduced in June last, during a period of development for the Guild Esports. With a market capitalization of £41,2m, the company raised £20 million ahead of the London Stock Exchange bill.

Since day One, Guild Esports has become a lifestyle brand. Shortly after the launch, Guild Esports entrusted MediaCom Sport & Entertainment with its business relations plan. The company unveiled its first partnership with the designer Fergus Percell at the beginning of this month as a clothing brand.
