  • Gaming hardware brand CORSAIR will sponsor the Rainbow Six Pro League, along with major tournaments the Six Invitational and Six Major.
  • CORSAIR already sponsors multiple Rainbow Six Siege competitors and will work with Ubisoft to design hardware specially designed for the game.
  • A five-year-old game in a 22-year-old gaming franchise, Rainbow Six Siege esports is run in partnership with ESL, and implements a revenue-sharing system for teams.

CORSAIR has partnered with Ubisoft for its 2020 Rainbow Six Siege events. The PC and gaming hardware company will sponsor the Rainbow Six Pro League, this weekend’s Six Invitational, and the Six Major later this year. This includes use of CORSAIR computers and peripherals at events, demo stations and giveaways for attendees, and working with Ubisoft on future in-game collaborations. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Several teams competing in Rainbow Six Siege are partnered with CORSAIR, including Team Vitality and Team Secret, as well as various streamers. Through the partnership, CORSAIR intends to use pro-player feedback to develop specially designed mice and keyboards for the game.

“Rainbow Six Siege has become a leading esports title in recent years, and we’re glad to have been a part of the phenomenon,” said Lauren Premo, director of gaming marketing at CORSAIR, in a statement. “As we increase our support for the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League and upcoming tournaments in 2020, we look forward to helping both the game and its enthusiastic community reach new heights.”

A tactical shooter licensed from the Tom Clancy media franchise, Rainbow Six Siege was first released in 2015. Its esports following developed over time, with the Pro League and other events now run in partnership with ESL. In-game item packs are available for Pro League teams, which each earn 30% of revenues made. The Six Siege Major in Raleigh, North Carolina, resulted in $1.45M USD in direct economic impact, according to a report by media and esports agency, Big Block.
