Cloud9 signs another talented up-and-coming North American Fortnite player.

North American esports organization Cloud9 silently waded through the waters of competitive Fortnite for the better part of 2019 and 2020. Until recently, the organization only maintained two Brazilian Fortnite players on its active roster. Cloud9’s approach to Fortnite would ultimately change beginning on September 18, 2020 – with the signing of FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 1 Champion Avery. More roster acquisitions would soon follow in the form of nosh and former Team Liquid player Vivid.

Yesterday, Cloud9 acquired 15-year-old DreamHack Finalist — Fryst — to complete a squad of North American Fortnite players. To celebrate its signing of Fryst Cloud9 released a two-minute compilation of the young NA East player’s most impressive clips. Additionally, Fryst provided some words of gratitude and excitement toward Cloud9.

“I’ve looked up to Cloud9 for a while now. I never thought I’d be able to become a part of this team,” said Fryst in his introduction video. “Words cannot describe how grateful I am to be here.”

Fryst joins Avery, nosh and Vivid as the newest members of Cloud9’s North American roster.

Fryst’s Competitive History

Cloud9’s newest roster member appeared on the Fortnite competitive scene back in the Summer of 2019. Although he possesses no major victories – Fryst has several high placements in multiple Fortnite tournaments. His notable achievements are a fourth-place finish in DreamHack’s NA East July Open and a 17th place finish in the FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 2 Invitational. He will be looking to make a huge splash this season and beyond with millions of dollars on the line.

The end of Cloud9’s introduction video for Fryst once again teased, “Stay tuned for more.” It appears that the organization signed more than just four players. More announcements will surely follow within the next couple of weeks.
