Brazilian retail giant Casas Bahia announced Thursday it is sponsoring Free Fire organization Fluxo. The deal was closed a few weeks after Fluxo co-founder Bruno “Nobru” Goes was announced as the Creative Head of Gaming of the company.
Casas Bahia continues its expansion into esports after its main competitor, Magalu, announced its entrance into the League of Legends scene, partnering with Miners and using one of its brands to build Netshoes Miners and compete in the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL).
The choice by Casas Bahia to invest in the Free Fire scene, according to the company, is due to the fact that the game is “democratic” and “Casas Bahia is also for everyone.” In a recent interview with The Esports Observer, Nobru also highlighted the branding strategy of Fluxo to identify as a popular team.
Casas Bahia will have its brand displayed on Fluxo’s jersey along with other sponsors Razer, energy drink TNT, and the bank next.
