Activision and Infinity Ward have released the roadmap showing all content coming in Season 5.
Warzone Map Changes
Firstly, there are massive changes coming to Verdansk. Not only will the Stadium be opening, so will the Train Station. With the opening of the Train Station comes the arrival of a train itself, this will run around the map and hold valuable loot. Exterior ascension will also be added in this season. Ascensions are the cables which allow you to go up to the top of buildings such as the Air Traffic Control tower, these are now being added to the outside of some buildings to make it much easier to reach the top.
New Multiplayer Maps
Season 5 will see 4 new Maps become available to Modern Warfare owners.
Livestock is a new Gunfight map set in a rural compound around a central barn area, this will make for some intense action in a new rural setting.
Petrov Oil Rig
Petrov Oil Rig is a close to mid-range multiplayer map which has few lines of sight for Marksman and Sniper Rifles. Set far away from the known Modern Warfare locations, the oil rig was abandoned due to ongoing hostilities between Coalition and Allegiance forces.
Suldal Harbor is another multiplayer map however old school players may remember this from back in COD 1. The medium-sized map is set in a Middle-Eastern harbor and will provide close to mid-range combat catering to AR and SMG players.
Verdansk International Airport
The Verdansk International Airport will be coming as a Ground War map in Season 5. One of the most beloved parts of the Warzone map will now be available to play in ground war. This will see large scale combat catering to all weaponry with close-quarters inside and long-range engagements outside.
Even More Content
Season 5 will also bring more content such as new multiplayer modes and challenges.
Bare Bones is a new game mode that will feature a rotation of TDM, Domination, Hardpoint, HQ and Kill Confirmed. However, there are no streaks, no field upgrades and no perks.
Search and Destroy Double Down
Search and Destroy Double Down is your usual SnD action, however this time it’s 12v12 instead of 6v6. This will lead to even more chaos than before.
Season 5 starts on August 5 and is available to download on Xbox, Playstation and PC.
