Call of Duty: Crimsix Speaks Out On The Competitive GA Situation

After many recent GA’s, Dallas Empire’s Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter spoke about the situation in a since deleted tweet.

In a tweet that was deleted quickly after, Crimsix spoke about his thoughts on recent GA’s. As well as the Call of Duty community’s stance on this.

What did the tweet say?

In the now deleted tweet, Crimsix said; “The problem with majority voting for GA’s is that everyone wants to win. No one is simply okay with getting a Top 8 placing. Anyone who isn’t in the Top 4 would rather change the meta than to take the harder/longer path of just simply getting better. Meaning that there is 8 out of 12 teams that are constantly voting to get rid of/add things into the meta to mix gameplay up, which sometimes results in team power rankings also mixing up.”

It then went on to add; “I rarely ever see a team in the lower half of the standings voting against a proposed GA. This is a huge problem and for the past 3 months, I’ve been wondering which gun I’ll be running the next week. Don’t agree to the GA’s? Get blacklisted. No practice for you until you agree. No team scrims and no 10s. This puts enormous amounts of pressure on the teams risking potential loss of practice time for something that may/may not change how their team performs.”

Crimsix ended the tweet by pointing out that teams might not have as much power as fans imagine;
So before you guys call pros stupid for GA’ing stuff, please understand that sometimes we don’t actually have a choice in the matter, even though each team can vote.”

The response

Many pros responded to Crimsix’s tweet including Atlanta FaZe’s Priestahh. He said he has used the MP7, Uzi, AUG and MP5 in the past few weeks and finally settled on using the AUG before it was GA’d. Especially 3 days before a tournament, this GA seems ridiculous to many fans and players. While a fix for this could be an increase in the votes needed such as 10/12 of the teams have to agree for example. However, OpTic’s Slasher replied to Crimsix stating that the guidelines that are used for GA’s is that 9/12 teams have to agree, which is an “overwhelming majority”.

With the meta changing even up to three days before an event, this weekend’s New York Subliners Home Series will be an interesting one to watch.
