BIG and FURIA take home wins at DreamHack Masters Spring.
DreamHack Masters Spring has come to a close in both Europe and North America, crowning two teams as champion in their respective regions. BIG took on G2 Esports in the European Grand Final, besting the current second-ranked team to take the title. In North America, Brazilian side FURIA took down Team Liquid in a clean sweep.

BIG kicked off their group stage run with a win over MAD Lions, following that up with two more victories over mousesports and Complexity. After securing their group’s top slot, the German squad moved on to the play-offs upper bracket. The upper bracket semi-final saw BIG take on FaZe Clan, quickly sweeping them aside with a 2-0 victory.
BIG next took on G2 Esports in the upper bracket final, falling 1-2 to the French-Serbian squad. Facing off against FaZe once again in the consolidation final, BIG took down the multinational team 2-0 to advance to the Grand Final. Coming from the upper bracket, G2 Esports held a one-map advantage in the best-of-five match. G2 took Vertigo, putting themselves up 2-0 in the series.
BIG rallied back, securing dominant 16-5 and 16-6 victories on Nuke and Dust2 to send the series to a game five. A back-and-forth fight saw Mirage go into overtime, where BIG were able to claim the series win with a reverse sweep. BIG take home the $54,000 grand prize along with 400 ESL Pro Tour points.

In North America, FURIA began their group stage with a 2-0 victory over domestic rivals MIBR. 2-1 wins over Team Liquid and Chaos earned them the group’s top slot and a spot in the play-offs upper bracket. Taking on 100 Thieves in the upper bracket final, the Brazilian team earned their Grand Final appearance with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Team Liquid met FURIA in the best-of-five final, the latter having a one-map advantage. With a 16-12 win on Liquid’s pick of Mirage and a 16-5 win on Vertigo, FURIA secured the clean sweep series victory. FURIA takes home the $40,000 first-place prize and 320 ESL Pro Tour points.
BIG is currently competing in the ESL Pro League Season 12 European qualifier. Meanwhile, FURIA will next play in the BLAST Premier Spring Americas Final.
