Two time Call of Duty world champion Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price will be playing in the Call of Duty Challengers League for the remainder of the season after being released from the Los Angeles Guerrillas.
Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price is a two-time world champion and one of the most notorious CoD players in the world. As a vetran of the scene, he has been playing for over 10 years and following his release from the Guerrillas just under a week ago, he will be playing in the amateur challengers league. ACHES was benched by LAG back in March, before being released a few days ago.
Many fans speculated that ACHES would either be taking this time off, or joining the CDL in an analyst role. However it has been revealed that he will be joining an amateur team for the upcoming Call of Duty League Playoffs and Championship weekend. This experienced roster will consist of:
- Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price
- Michael ‘Apox’ Williams
- Christopher ‘ProFeeZy’ Astudillo
- Michael ‘Spacely’ Schmale
- Teegan ‘TcM’ McCarthy
ACHES elaborated on his decision to return to competitive play in a reddit comment.
ACHES: I didn’t have any intention on playing in challengers at all upon parting with LAG. However Spacely reached out to me and asked if I would be down to play if he found players, I said sure as I have like 40k pro points. I haven’t been able to compete since February so for the sake of something to do, and attempt to make some cash since we auto qualify for Finals I figured it’d be fun. However Haggy is def dragging that I asked for tips lmaooo, I asked him on how deadzone worked because truthfully I never got the concept.
Return to the scene
After being contacted by fellow vetran Spacely, ACHES decided to return to the competitive scene. One of the main reasons why it is so easy for ACHES to qualify for the end of year championships is due to his position as a former sub. Every pro player is given 40,000 Pro Points for free, this means that they should be able to qualify for the end of year championships with ease.
As ACHES returns to competitive play once more for his shot at the $50K first place prize, it is still not clear whether he will compete next year. While many fans are calling for him to find a spot as CDL talent, we won’t know for sure until next year.
